Length 0.7 Km
Maintained walking trail thru the woods along the edge of Kimball pond in Hopkinton New Hampshire, USA This historic site was once owned by the Boy Scouts of America back in the early 1900’s and is now owned by the town. The trails are easily accessible from parking area which is right off the main road. Strollers with big wheels would be able to pushed in the park area but no too well on the trails. This path winds thru the woods with some hills that can be slippery with fallen pine needles. The trails are marked and easy to follow. For the most part they are not too strenuous and the entire family would be able to navigate them. The trails are accessible in all four seasons in New Hampshire. Except for winter there are seats available on the dock for some quiet contemplation beside the pond. Ice skating in winter is available and fishing, canoeing, and kayaking are available the other three seasons.
The overflow walk
Length 2.3 Km
Part of the flood control system, this trail starts out in a path thru the woods that is set up for snowmobiling in the winter. After half a mile of small hills the pine needle path turns to ferns as the water gets closer. Tall pines line the path and several small varieties of fungi can be found among them. There were ducks in the water when we passed by on the path. A quiet walk through the woods makes this a great hike to enjoy in all the four seasons
Overflow hill
Length 2.6 Km
This trail starts off steep on a grass covered path. The hill continues for about 1/3 of a mile then it levels out. Pines and hardwood trees line the path. The hill levels out for another 1/3 of a mile then it becomes downhill. We turned around at this point and headed back. A challenging hike with photo breaks to regain momentum
