This is located at 72500 Thrush Rd., Palm Desert, CA 92260. It’s a moderate hike and very popular with pet owners. Very friendly, there are trash cans, doggy bags and drinking fountains for both before the trailhead and up the trail, maybe 1000 feet away. Have plenty of sun protection, a sunny trail.
The Cross Loop
Length 2.5 Km
Located at 72500 Thrush Rd, Palm Desert, CA 92260. This is a very popular trail because of the Cross. Many locals like to hike at night when the Cross is illuminated. The best time do that when it’s full moon. The trail is a loop which many people don’t do because it’s not shown on the map. It’s really worth doing and I would highly recommend if anybody has decided to hike the Cross. Total experience is way better doing the loop hike.
Mike Schuler Trail
Length 1.5 Km
This is the trail behind Target in Palm Desert. Now noisy and annoying on the first 1/2 mile because of the remote control car race track adjacent on the west of the trailhead. This is a moderate hike and gets really steep on the last 1/2 before connecting to Bump and Grind.
Bump and Grind (trail)
Length 1.5 Km
This is a moderate to difficult trail because the entire trail is ascending. For your serious cardio workouts? This is the trail, best to jog descending on this trail. The elevation gain is not to be taken lightly either! It appears over 1,500 feet. You’ll definitely need water and sun protection on this trail.
