Best Walking Trails & Routes in Madison

Paved path for walking, biking and Horse riding. Loantaka Reservation is next to Seaton Hackney Horse stables. There is a choice of eight trails of varying distance. Check map at welcome area, or design your own path. Mostly forested terrain with meadow and lake views. The only hazards are the hefty piles of horse manure!

1.8 mile connecting loops. Wide, crushed rock paved trail. Mostly level with no surprises or obstacles. Part of the Loantaka Brook Reservation that was recently opened to the public. 1st loop circles a lake. 2nd larger loop circles a meadow. Easy walk that’s perfect for beginners or anyone looking to get in a quick walk with no challenges. Dog and stroller friendly. No restrooms.
