Jane’s Hoffbrau Trail
Length 3.3 Km
This is the best trail behind the Rimrock Shopping center that many hikers don’t know about. It’s the most scenic with 50% shading when you’re inside the canyon. The best spot is at the oasis! Depending on what time of year you hike this trail you’ll see a creek. This is a moderate hike, and the best way to hike this trail is clockwise direction. This is a loop and very tricky to find why many hikers completely miss it.
Note: before it was an easy hike next to the dam. What happened the trail got washed away and there’s 30 feet drop too dangerous to chance. Instead back track 50 - 100 feet and climb up the hill on the west. You’ll be around 20 feet higher in elevation and continue south that takes you in the canyon, be careful descending because it’s not a trail.
Once you’re in the canyon it’s the best part of this hike because you’ll be in shaded area. There’s a spot where the trail picks up but many don’t see or completely miss. It’s when you arrive at the boulders. You’ll know it when you see it, because these boulders are like 25 feet tall. When you see that? Turn around and walk back around 100 - 300 feet? And you’ll see the trail on the left side. That’s the trail that will ultimately lead you thought the most scenic and ends at the climax - the oasis.
Ps. - Inside the canyon is where you’ll experience no cell phone signal.

This is the trail at the end of Palm Hills Dr., behind the Rimrock Shopping Center. The trail is popular with hikers and mountain bikers. You’re sure to encounter mountain bikers and locals who like walking their pets. Beware of transients who live in the canyons 50 yards away from the trail who are leaving a lot of trash.
Jackrabbit Trail
Length 1.3 Km
This is a short hike behind Rancho Mirage City Hall. Best to start at the parking lot and walk southward along Hwy 111 to Bloch Cancer Surviver’s Park. And 800 feet further down is where the trail actually starts. Instead of taking this trail where it ends on the west side of the City Hall parking where many like to start this hike. Go instead at the south end and go clockwise up to the summit where there’s a shaded structure, and relax there to enjoy the scenic views. Afterward descend on Bighorn Overlook Trail to return to the parking lot at the City Hall.
