Woolwich Common

Woolwich Common is a common in Woolwich in southeast London, England. It is partly used as military land (less than 40%) and partly as an urban park. Woolwich Common is a conservation area. It is part of the South East London Green Chain. It is also the name of a street on the east side of the common, as well as an electoral ward of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is located on Woolwich Common in London, England, was opened in March 2001 and serves patients from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley. The hospital was built to accommodate the services previously provided at Greenwich District Hospital and Brook General Hospital, and is a Private Finance Initiative hospital.

Ark Greenwich Free School is a coeducational secondary free school located in the Woolwich area of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in London, England. The school opened in September 2012 with an initial intake of 11-year-old pupils (academic year 7), with the school expanding admissions every year to eventually become a full secondary school with a sixth form.

Meridian Radio is the working name of the Woolwich Hospitals Broadcasting Service. It is a hospital radio station providing entertainment and information to the patients and staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. It was established from the merger of two radio stations in 1972, becoming the Woolwich Hospitals Broadcasting Service.

The Shrapnel Barracks was a British army base providing living accommodation in Woolwich in southeast London from the mid-19th century until the 1960s. Named after Lieutenant General Henry Shrapnel (who invented the shrapnel shell and was for some years based at the nearby Royal Arsenal), it was situated to the northwest of the modern-day Stadium Road, on the western edge of Woolwich Common; the site is now occupied by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The Royal Military College (RMC), founded in 1801 and established in 1802 at Great Marlow and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England, but moved in October 1812 to Sandhurst, Berkshire, was a British Army military academy for training infantry and cavalry officers of the British and Indian Armies.The RMC was reorganised at the outbreak of the Second World War, but some of its units remained operational at Sandhurst and Aldershot.

The Royal Military Academy (RMA) at Woolwich, in south-east London, was a British Army military academy for the training of commissioned officers of the Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers. It later also trained officers of the Royal Corps of Signals and other technical corps. RMA Woolwich was commonly known as "The Shop" because its first building was a converted workshop of the Woolwich Arsenal.

Victoria House, Greenwich on Shooter's Hill in Greenwich is the former officers mess' and living quarters for the Royal Army Medical Corps. It is a "Building of Local Architectural or Historic Interest".
