After passing thru the flood zone gate the path is even and strewn with leaves and acorns that have fallen from the oak trees. The path is lined with pines and hardwoods. The end of the path opens onto a field. After crossing the field a small climb brings one a top the dam wall that leads to the marsh and overflow.
