The Department of Computer Science is the computer science department of the University of Oxford, England, which is part of the university's Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. It was founded in 1957 as the Computing Laboratory. By 2014 the staff count was 52 members of academic staff and over 80 research staff.

The Campaign for Oxford has been a pioneer of university fundraising, in terms of both methods and ambition, since its launch in 1988. It is the biggest and most ambitious fundraising campaign for Higher Education in Europe and one of the largest university fundraising campaigns in the world.

Rainbow Bridge (formally High Bridge) is a curved footbridge over the River Cherwell in the University Parks, Oxford, England. The bridge is made of concrete with metal railings, in the shape of a rainbow, hence the name. The bridge was constructed in 1923–4, through a project for the unemployed. The bridge was financed by the University of Oxford, colleges at the University, and individual subscribers.

Linacre College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in the UK whose members comprise approximately 50 fellows and 500 postgraduate students. The college is named after Thomas Linacre (1460–1524), founder of the Royal College of Physicians as well as a distinguished renaissance humanist—multidisciplinary interests that the college aims to reflect.

The Department of Materials at the University of Oxford, England was founded in the 1950s as the Department of Metallurgy, by William Hume-Rothery, who was a reader in Oxford's Department of Inorganic Chemistry. It is part of the university's Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division Around 250 people work in the Department of Materials full-time, including professors, lecturers, independent fellows, researchers and support staff.

The Programming Research Group (PRG) was part of the Oxford University Computing Laboratory (OUCL) in Oxford, England, until OUCL became the Department of Computer Science in 2011.The PRG was founded by Christopher Strachey in 1965 and after his death, C.A.R. Hoare, FRS took over the leadership in 1977.
