The route starts in San Francisco, along the Bay. Great warmup on flat surface with excellent views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Once you reach the bridge, you’ll have a great walk with views of SF and Alcatraz. Now the real hike begins. Start your trek up to the Marin Headlands viewpoint of the GG bridge. Then head your way up 800 feet on a gradual incline path along the road to Rodeo Beach. Enjoy the beautiful paths and views of the non-coastal trails of the inner Marin Headlands. You will ascend and descend two mountains (the double dip) with a cumulative elevation gain of about 2000, with a peak elevation of 600+ feet. Make your way through the trails on your way to the Tennessee Valley Trailhead, and find an Uber that will take you back to SF.
NOT to be attempted within 4 hours of sundown. You’ll be stuck in the dark without cellular service.
