It was built and is owned by MTR Corporation (MTRC) in conjunction with the opening of Tsing Yi Station. Maritime Square is directly connected to Tierra Verde (盈翠半島; jing4 ceoi3 bun3 dou2), a private housing estate that was also built by MTRC.

It was reclaimed for the development of a new town on Tsing Yi Island in 1980s. The harbour became two public housing estates, Cheung On Estate and Cheung Fat Estate.

Chun Kwan was a commoner who had combatted pirates during the South Song Dynasty (960–1279).The original temple was built on the waterfront 100 years ago and later moved to its present location on the junction of Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road and Fung Shue Wo Road.

There were ferries to Tsuen Wan and Central. The service ceased to exist and the pier freed for public use thereafter.

It was built in stages from 2001 to 2004.The Promenade faces Rambler Channel, from Greenfield Garden, through Tsing Yi Pier and Maritime Square to Cheung Fat Estate. At the end of this promenade is the Tsing Yi Northeast Park.

Tsing Leng Tsui

Tsing Leng Tsui (Chinese: 青嶺嘴) is a former cape on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong between the former Tsing Yi Bay and the Rambler Channel. After several phases of reclamation, the cape lost its shape and became the location of the Hong Kong Cement Plant belonging to Hong Kong Cement Manufacturing Company Limited.
