Brunswick is an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Melbourne's central business district. Its local government area is the City of Moreland. At the 2016 Census, Brunswick had a population of 24,473.Traditionally a working class area noted for its large Italian and Greek communities, Brunswick is currently known for its bohemian culture and strong arts and live music scenes.

The electoral district of Brunswick is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers an area of 16 square kilometres (6.2 sq mi) in inner northern Melbourne, and includes the suburbs of Brunswick, Brunswick East, and Brunswick West, and parts of Coburg, Fitzroy North, Parkville and Pascoe Vale South.

Jewell railway station is located on the Upfield railway line in Victoria, Australia, and serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Brunswick. It opened on 9 September 1884 as South Brunswick, and was renamed Jewell on 1 February 1954, honouring a long-serving member of the State Parliament, James Jewell, who represented the Brunswick electorate from 1910 to 1949.

Designed by Seabrook and Fildes, it was the first fire station commissioned by the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade to embrace a Modernist ideology.Seabrook's father, who was Chairman of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade at the time, was no doubt influential in ensuring his son's practice was awarded the contract, the first of twelve the firm designed which included the stations at Camberwell (1938), Brighton (1939) and Windsor (1941).

The City of Brunswick was a local government area in the inner-northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It comprised the suburbs of Brunswick, Brunswick East and West Brunswick. It ceased to exist on June 22, 1994, when its council was disbanded by the Kennett Government and replaced with appointed commissioners, who oversaw its amalgamation with the City of Coburg and parts of the City of Broadmeadows, to create the City of Moreland.
