Cornwall Park

Cornwall Park is an expansive parkland in Epsom near the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, surrounding the park containing Maungakiekie pa or the hill of One Tree Hill. The two independent parks form one large park of 670 acres (270 hectares).The Park has centuries-old heritage sites, wide-open spaces, tree lined avenues and walks, places of peace and tranquillity in a large city, sports grounds including tennis and bowls and a working farm for the education of city children.

The Auckland Region (Māori: Tāmaki Makaurau) is one of the sixteen regions of New Zealand, named for the city of Auckland, the country's largest urban area. The region encompasses the Auckland metropolitan area, smaller towns, rural areas, and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. Containing 35 percent of the nation's residents, it has by far the largest population and economy of any region of New Zealand, but the second-smallest land area.

Greenlane is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. It is bounded by Epsom to the west, Newmarket to the north, Remuera to the east and One Tree Hill to the south.The Greenlane shops are situated at the intersection of Great South Road and Green Lane West. On the northern side of Green Lane West are located the Alexandra Park Raceway, the ASB Showgrounds and the Campbell Park Tennis Club; on the southern side is Greenlane Hospital, Cornwall Park, Cornwall Cricket Club, and Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill and its park.

The Cornwall Cricket Club, the Cornwall Districts Cricket and Sports Association Incorporated, was founded in 1895 in Auckland, New Zealand as Ponsonby Cricket Club. It claims the largest membership of any cricket club in New Zealand.The club's cricket ground is in Cornwall Park opposite the showgrounds at 210 Green Lane West, Epsom where it has been since 1952.

Alexandra Park is the home of the Auckland Trotting Club in Epsom, Auckland. The park consists of the Alexandra Park Raceway trotting track, conference centre and a high-end urban village currently under construction. Alexandra Park hosts many feature harness races throughout the year, including the Auckland Trotting Cup and the Rowe Cup, and is the home of the New Zealand Trotting Hall of Fame and museum.

Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill is a 182-metre (597 ft) volcanic peak in Auckland, New Zealand. It is an important memorial place for both Māori and other New Zealanders. The suburb around the base of the hill is also called One Tree Hill. It is surrounded by the suburbs of Royal Oak to the west, and clockwise, Epsom, Greenlane, Oranga, and Onehunga.
