Pukemokemoke Bush Reserve Introduction
Pukemokemoke Bush Reserve is a 1.3 mile (3,000-step) route located near Morrinsville, Waikato Region, New Zealand. This route has an elevation gain of about 419.8 ft and is rated as hard. Find the best walking trails near you in Pacer App.
Just off Tauhei Road (carry’s on from Whitikahu Rd, off Gordonton Rd State highway 1B) you starting from the car park, and you can head either left or right on gravel trail to begin the loop. If you go right, it is mostly flat, passing the picnic area, for about 1km, then the trail starts to climb up steeply. The next km to the top is all through the bush on single track, with many tree roots, some gravel parts and a lot of mud in places when it has been raining. The trail gets steeper until reaching the summit where the 360 degree views around the Waikato. Carry on, the loop down is quite steep trail. About halfway down the trail turns to many stepped boardwalks until you reach the flat again, with a short distance back following the river back to the the car park. All up it’s about 3.5kms.
