Kalamunda to Carmel

Kalamunda (Nyungar: Karlamarda) is a town and eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the Darling Scarp at the eastern limits of the Perth metropolitan area.The word is derived from two Noongar (an Indigenous Australian language) words: kala meaning "home" and munda meaning "forest", hence spawning the City's motto "A home in the forest".

The City of Kalamunda is a local government area in the eastern metropolitan region of the Western Australian capital city of Perth about 25 kilometres (15.5 mi) east of Perth's central business district. The city covers an area of 324.2 square kilometres (125.2 sq mi), much of which is state forest rising into the Darling Scarp to the east.

Bickley is a suburb located within the City of Kalamunda, in Perth, Western Australia.It is situated on the Darling Scarp and is known for the brook of the same name.Before 1949 it was a stopping place on the Upper Darling Range Railway. It was originally known as "Heidelburg" or "Heidelberg", but during World War I, Western Australian Government Railways and Tramways renamed it "Bickley" after a local pioneer Wallace Bickley.

Walliston is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Kalamunda.Prior to 1949 it was a stopping place on the Upper Darling Range Railway. It was named after John and Emma Wallis, the area's first settlers who arrived in the 1880s. The name was applied by the Railway Department in 1915.
