Fairport is a village located in the Town of Perinton, which is part of Monroe County, New York. Fairport is a suburb 9 miles (14 km) east of Rochester. It is also known as the "Crown Jewel of the Erie Canal". In 2005 it was named as one of the "Best Places to Live" by Money Magazine. The population of the Village of Fairport is 5,353 as of the 2010 census.

The Fairport Central School District is a public school district in New York State that serves approximately 5,800 students in most of the town of Perinton and the village of Fairport in Monroe County, with about 1,200 employees and an operating budget of $127.0 million ($21,895 per student).The student-teacher ratios are 18:1 for grades K–2, 22:1 for grades 3–5, 24:1 for grades 6–8, and 24:1 for grades 9–12.

The Fairport Lift Bridge is a through-truss mechanical lift bridge that carries NY Route 250 (Main Street) over the Erie Canal in downtown Fairport, New York, United States. It was constructed in 1913-1914 by the Lackawanna Bridge Company of Buffalo, New York and contracted by H.S. Kerbaugh, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, replacing an 80 ft (24 m) fixed bridge built in 1886 which was removed when the Erie Canal was widened.

Richardson's Tavern is a historic Erie Canal inn and tavern located in the hamlet of Bushnell's Basin in Perinton, Monroe County, New York. Believed to be the only remaining establishment from the canal's earliest years, it dates to about 1818 when it was a stop on the stage coach route along the Irondequoit Valley and Irondequoit Creek, between Rochester and Canandaigua.

The First Baptist Church of Fairport is a historic Baptist church located at 94 South Main Street at Church Street in Fairport, Monroe County, New York. It was built in 1876, and is a 2 1/2-story, cruciform plan, High Victorian Gothic church. It is constructed of brick and rests on a Medina sandstone foundation.

The Henry DeLand House also known as the Green Lantern Inn was built from 1874 to 1876 in the village of Fairport, New York as a home for Henry Addison DeLand. DeLand was a member of an influential local family and was a baking soda manufacturer. It is located at 1 East Church street, at the intersection of South Main street.
