Lucan (; (Irish: Leamhcán, meaning "place of elms") is a large village and suburb located roughly 12km west of Dublin city centre, on the River Liffey near the Strawberry Beds and Lucan Weir, and at the confluence of the River Griffeen. The majority of the area lies under the jurisdiction of South Dublin county council while a small portion north of the Liffey, including Laraghcon, Westmanstown, St Catherine's Park and Lucan Demesne, lies under Fingal council control.
