Ipanema (Portuguese pronunciation: [ipaˈnẽmɐ]) is a neighborhood located in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), between Leblon and Arpoador. The beach at Ipanema became known internationally with the popularity of the bossa nova jazz song, "The Girl from Ipanema" ("Garota de Ipanema"), written by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes.

Parque Lage (in full "Parque Enrique Lage") is a public park in the city of Rio de Janeiro, located in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood at the foot of the Corcovado.The land was formerly the residence of industrialist Enrique Lage and his wife, singer Gabriella Besanzoni. During the 1920s Lage had the mansion remodeled by Italian architect Mario Vodret, with interior paintings by Salvador Payols Sabaté.

Favela Santa Marta (Portuguese pronunciation: [fɐˈvɛlɐ ˈsɐ̃tɐ ˈmaʁtɐ], Saint Martha's favela) is a favela located in the Botafogo and Laranjeiras part of the Morro Dona Marta (pronounced [ˈmoʁu ˈdõnɐ ˈmaʁtɐ], Dame Martha's Hill), that is also divided with the neighborhoods of Flamengo, Cosme Velho and Silvestre, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It borders the neighborhoods of Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana, Gávea, Jardim Botânico, and Humaitá.It is the third most expensive neighborhood to live in South America.

Hipódromo da Gávea is a racecourse used for horse racing, located in the Gávea neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in 1926, it has 3,000 seats and an overall capacity of 80,000.

Deutsche Schule Rio de Janeiro (Portuguese: Escola Alemã Corcovado) is a German international school in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It serves levels Kindergarten/Educação Infantil through klasse 12/turma 12 (a part of Sekundarstufe II, or senior high school/sixth form). It is located in the former US Embassy.

Humaitá is a residential district in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is situated between the foot of Corcovado Mountain and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Neighbouring districts are Botafogo, Lagoa and Jardim Botânico.The name of the district commemorates the Battle of Humaitá in southern Paraguay, fought during the Paraguayan War in August 1868.

O Museu do Índio (English: The Museum of the Indian) is a cultural and scientific agency of the Fundação Nacional do Índio (English: National Foundation of the Indian) or FUNAI. It was created by Darcy Ribeiro, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1953. The Colégio de Aplicação da UFRJ (Laboratory School of UFRJ), also known as CAp UFRJ, is a public federal school maintained by UFRJ, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Being a laboratory school, it also serves as a training ground for future teachers graduating on UFRJ.
