Montreux

Montreux (UK: , US: , French: [mɔ̃tʁø]) is a municipality and a Swiss town on the shoreline of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps. It belongs to the district of Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland and has a population of about 25,000, and about 85,000 in the agglomeration Vevey-Montreux.

Glion Institute of Higher Education (informally Glion) is a hospitality management school situated in Glion sur Montreux, Switzerland, 1 km (0.62 miles) to the east of Montreux and 66 km (41 miles) northeast of Geneva.Based on the site of the former Grand Hôtel Bellevue, Glion was established in autumn 1962 as the Institut International de Glion.

Queen: The Studio Experience is a museum in Montreux, Switzerland, dedicated to the British rock group Queen. It is located in the former Mountain Studios in the Casino Barrière de Montreux. Queen made recordings in the studio from 1978 to 1995. The museum was opened December 2, 2013 by band member Brian May.

The Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway (French: Chemin de fer Montreux Oberland bernois, German: Montreux Berner Oberland Bahn, abbreviated MOB), is a railway operating in southwest Switzerland, one of the oldest electric railways in the country; its main line, 62.4 km (38.8 mi) in length, built to 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) gauge, connects Montreux, Gstaad, and Zweisimmen, where passengers can transfer to the BLS AG owned, and standard gauge, Zweisimmen to Spiez line.

The Montreux Music & Convention Centre (formerly and still commonly known as the Montreux Convention Centre) is a multi-purpose complex located in Montreux, Switzerland. It hosts the annual Montreux Jazz Festival. The convention center's main venues are the 4,000-capacity Auditorium Stravinski and the 2,000-capacity Miles Davis Hall.

The Hotel Splendid Montreux, in front of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman). It was built at the end of the 19th century and its opening was in 1904. It was in 1934 that the establishment was re bought by Mr. Vital Hausmann. Since then, it has stayed within the family. The Territet–Glion funicular railway (French: Chemin de fer funiculaire Territet–Glion) is a funicular in Switzerland, which runs between the Territet and Glion suburbs of the town of Montreux. At its upper terminus, the funicular connects with what was the lower terminus of the Chemin de fer Glion-Rochers-de-Naye (GN) mountain railway, which opened in 1892.
