Cascais center

Cascais (Portuguese pronunciation: [kɐʃˈkajʃ] (listen)) is a municipality in the Lisbon District of Portugal, located on the Portuguese Riviera. The population in 2011 was 206,479, in an area of 97.40 km2. Cascais is an important tourist destination. Its marina hosts events such as the America's Cup and the town of Estoril, part of the Cascais municipality, hosts conferences such as the Horasis Global Meeting.

Boca do Inferno (Portuguese for Hell's Mouth) is a chasm located in the seaside cliffs close to the Portuguese city of Cascais, in the District of Lisbon. The seawater has access to the deep bottom of the chasm and vigorously strikes its rocky walls, making it a popular tourist attraction. The cave was the first to be depicted in moving pictures, in the 1896 British film A Sea Cave Near Lisbon, which shows waves breaking at the mouth of the cave.

The Casa das Histórias Paula Rego (‘’House of Stories Paula Rego’’) is a museum in Cascais, Lisbon District, on the Portuguese Riviera, designed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura to house some of the works of the artist Paula Rego.

The Casa de Santa Maria (House of Saint Mary) was once a luxurious private residence in Cascais, Lisbon District, Portugal. It was acquired by the Cascais Municipality in October 2004 and is now a museum. It blends several different architectural styles and influences.

The Cascais Marina, in Cascais, Portugal, is the largest marina on the Portuguese Riviera and the third largest marina in the country. Located on the Bay of Cascais along the shore of the Citadel of Cascais, the marina plays host to numerous high profile sailing events, such as the America's Cup World Series, the World Match Racing Tour, and the Audi MedCup.

Casa Sommer (The Sommer House), the former residence of an entrepreneur, Henrique Sommer, functions as the Municipal Historical Archive of the town of Cascais in Lisbon District, Portugal. It also has space on two floors for occasional exhibitions related to the history of Cascais. The house was constructed at the end of the 19th Century.

The Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum, originally known as the "Torre de S. Sebastião" (Saint Sebastian Tower), was built in 1900 as an aristocrat’s summer residence in Cascais, Lisbon District, Portugal. It became a museum in 1931. The building follows an eclectic architectural style, while the museum includes paintings of national and international significance, furniture, porcelain, jewellery and a neo-Gothic organ.

The Palácio dos Condes da Guarda (Palace of the Counts of Guarda) is located in Cascais, Lisbon District, Portugal. The building now functions both as the headquarters of the Municipality of Cascais and, on the ground floor, as a museum that explains the history of the town.

Cascais e Estoril is a civil parish in the municipality of Cascais, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Cascais and Estoril. The population in 2011 was 61,808, in an area of 29.16 km².

The Santa Marta Lighthouse is situated to the south of the centre of Cascais, Lisbon District, Portugal, on the estuary of the River Tagus, providing a light for the Cascais Bay and for the town's new marina. It is a quadrangular masonry tower covered with white tiles, with blue horizontal stripes and a red lantern.
