University of Yangon (also the Yangon University; Burmese: ရန်ကုန် တက္ကသိုလ်, pronounced [jàɴɡòʊɴ tɛʔkəθò]; formerly Rangoon College, Rangoon University and Rangoon Arts and Sciences University), located in Kamayut, Yangon, is the oldest university in Myanmar's modern education system and the best known university in Myanmar.

The Yangon University of Economics (formerly the Institute of Economics, Yangon; Burmese: ရန်ကုန် စီးပွားရေး တက္ကသိုလ် [jàɴɡòʊɴ síbwájé tɛʔkəθò]) is the premier university of economics and business in Myanmar. Founded as the Department of Economics of Yangon University in 1924, the institute became an independent university of higher learning in 1964.

Workers' College (Burmese: လုပ်သားများ ကောလိပ်) was an affiliated college of Yangon University. The college, located in Botataung in eastern Yangon, offered undergraduate programs in liberal arts, sciences and law mostly to part-time students. Since 2004, the campus of Workers' College has been turned into the newly created National Management University of Myanmar.
