Govandi is a suburban neighbourhood in eastern Mumbai, Maharashtra. Govandi railway station is on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway.With Eastern Freeway (Shivaji Chowk entrance) and construction of BKC link road this and surrounding area is becoming easier to commute.

The Bombay Presidency Golf Club, situated in the Chembur suburb is one of the oldest and most famous golf clubs in Mumbai. The BPGC, as it is known, was established in 1927 and in 2009 underwent extensive redesign & modifications to the course.

Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School also known as OLPS, is a boys school Chembur, Mumbai. The school was established in 1957. It has four houses − St. Gerards's (blue), St. Alphonso's (yellow), St. Clement's, (green), and St. Anthony's (red). The school celebrates its annual feast on 27 June.Dr Sarto Esteves was instrumental in helping the first principal of OLPS, an Irish Redemptorist to raise funds to set up the first school building and this was the beginning of a long association between the Redemptorists and the Esteves family.
