Messina

Messina Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Messina; Basilica Cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Messina, Sicily. Formerly the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Messina, it became in 1986 the archiepiscopal seat of the Archdiocese of Messina-Lipari-Santa Lucia del Mela.

The Church of the Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani (Italian: Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani) is a church in Messina, Sicily (Italy). It is an example of Norman architecture on Sicily.The church dates from the 12th century, when Sicily was under Norman rule. Built on top of the ruins of an older temple dedicated to Neptune, the church is an example of Sicilian Norman architecture with its mix of different cultural elements.

Messina Marittima railway station (Italian: Stazione di Messina Marittima) is an interchange station for train and ferry services into and out of the city and comune of Messina, on the island of Sicily, Italy. Opened in 1889 and was rebuilt between 1937 and 1939. It forms part of the Palermo–Messina and Messina–Syracuse railways.

Mategriffon or Matagrifone or Mathegriffon or Rocca Guelfonia was a medieval castle in Messina, Sicily, initially built as a wooden castle by Richard Ist, king of England and mostly demolished before his departure in 1191 from Messina for the conquest of Cyprus. Another reference to the castle is also made during the Sicilian Vespers, as the place where Charles I of Naples's Vicar Herbert and his family safely stayed during the uprising until their safe departure was negotiated.

The "Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel", better known as Carmine Church, is a Roman Catholic church, located near the Cathedral in Messina, in Sicily. It replaces the former church, which was razed by the 1908 Messina earthquake. Located before the Courthouse, the Carmine Church was rebuilt in the eighteenth century Baroque or Rococo style.

The Palazzo del Monte di Pietà is a palace in Messina, Sicily, located on via XXIV Maggio (formerly "via dei Monasteri"). It was built in 1616 for the Arciconfraternita degli Azzurri to designs of Natale Masuccio. The building was severely damaged during the earthquake of 1908.

The Messina tramway (Italian: Tranvia di Messina) is a tramway forming part of the public transport system in Messina, a city and comune in the region of Sicily, Italy.In operation since 2003, the tramway is 7.7 km (4.8 mi) long, and comprises one line, linking Gazzi with Annunziata.
