Vom Bahnhof Roma Stazione Termini zuerst zum Kolosseum, dann entlang dem Forum Romanum zur Piazza Venezia (Monument Vittorio Emanuele II) zur Erinnerung an die Staatsgründung (1861) und dessen erstem König. Es wurde 1927 eingeweiht. Von dort entlang dem Teatro di Marcello zum Tiber und entlang der Synagoge und Tiber-Insel zurück in die Stadt, vorbei am Ministero di Grazia e Giustizia, zum Pantheon, daneben eine Piazza mit Obelisk auf einem Elefanten, dahinter die Minerva Kirche, dann beim Sitz des Italienischen Senates im Palazzo Madama entlang, mit den Carabinieri in Paradeuniform beim Eingang, zur Piazza Navona mit dem weltberühmten Brunnen (Fontana del quattro fiumi) von Bernini, dann den Corso Vitt. Emanuele wieder zum Tiber runter, zur Engelsburg (Castel San Angelo), die Via delle Conciliazione zum Petersplatz und Dom (Basilica di S. Pietro). Entlang der Schweizergarde an der Via di Porta Angelica und der Via Ottaviano zur gleichnamigen Metrostation und zurück zur Stazione Roma Termini. Nur eine von vielen möglichen Routen zu Fuss durch Rom, aber trotzdem viele Sehenswürdigkeiten. Mit Kaffee Pause etwa 4 Stunden einrechnen.

It was designed in 1651 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini for Pope Innocent X whose family palace, the Palazzo Pamphili, faced onto the piazza as did the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone of which Innocent was the sponsor.
