Kozhikkode Beach

Kozhikode Beach or Calicut Beach is a beach on the western side of Kozhikode, situated on the Malabar Coast of India. The beach is accessible through four road overbridges in the city. The beach has paved stones and illumination. There is one Lions Park for the children and an aquarium. Kozhikode beach has always been a prominent place for conducting public meetings.

Mananchira is a man-made freshwater pond situated in the centre of the city of Kozhikode in Kerala, southern India. The pond is 3.49 acres (14,120 m2) in area, is rectangular in shape and is fed by a natural spring.

Kozhikode ([koːɻikːoːɖ] (listen)), also known as Calicut, is a Tier 2 Metro city in Kerala, India and the headquarters of the Kozhikode district. The Kozhikode metropolitan area is the second largest urban agglomeration in Kerala with a population of 2 million as of 2011. The city lies about 358 km south west of Bangalore, 233 km south of Mangalore and 525 km south west of Chennai.

Mishkal Mosque (Malayalam: മിശ്കാൽ പള്ളി, also spelled Mithqal Mosque) is a medieval mosque located in Calicut on Malabar Coast, southern India. The mosque, one of the few surviving medieval mosques in Malabar, is regarded as an important cultural, historical and architectural monument of Kerala. The mosque was built by the eponymous Muslim merchant-shipowner (nakhuda) in the 14th century.

The Malabar Christian College (MCC) at Kozhikode in Kerala, India, is one of the oldest co-educational institutions in the city. It was established in 1909 by Protestant Christian missionaries from Basel, Switzerland with the aim to impart education to the youth in Malabar region without discrimination.

St. Joseph's Boys' Higher Secondary School, in Kozhikode, is one of the oldest educational institutions in India and the oldest school in Kerala. The school run by the Society of Jesus was started away back in 1793. The Jesuit educators have as their aim the pupil's complete development. The school strives to make the students "agents of social change" or "men for others" so that the principles of social justice, equality of opportunity, genuine freedom, respect for religious and moral values may prevail.

Mavoor Road is the busiest High street of Kozhikode city in Kerala, India. This road connects the Mananchira pond area with the Kozhikode Medical College. After the medical college, the road is extended further to the little village of Mavoor but the term 'Mavoor Road' refers to the section between the city and the Medical college.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Calicut (Latin: Calicuten(sis)) is a suffragan diocese Latin rite in the Ecclesiastical province of Verapoly in Kerala state, southern India, yet it depends on the missionary Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.Its cathedral episcopal see is Mother of God Cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady, in the city of Kozhikode (Calicut).

Kozhikkode Lighthouse is a defunct light in the Kozhikkode District of Kerala. It was constructed in 1907. The first lighthouse was constructed in 1847 at a height of 33 meters (108 ft). The current tower is 15 meters (49 ft) and is painted white. Kozhikode or Calicut lighthouse is automated, and an LED flasher apparatus is in use.

Samoothiri Tower is a proposed multistorey tower located in the southern Indian city of Kozhikode. The tower will be built as the information centre for the tourism of Malabar. The tower will stand 62m tall when completed and will have a historic museum in the first two floors along with a viewing gallery on the 14th floor from which the panoramic views of the whole city can be enjoyed.
