Tsaritsyn- Stalingrad - Volgograd

The Motherland Calls (Russian: Родина-мать зовёт!, tr. Rodina-mat' zovyot!, lit. 'Homeland-Mother Is Calling!') is the compositional centre of the monument-ensemble "Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia. It was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin, and declared the tallest statue in the world in 1967.

Mamayev Kurgan (Russian: Мамаев курган) is a dominant height overlooking the city of Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad) in Southern Russia. The name in Russian means "tumulus of Mamai". The formation is dominated by a memorial complex commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad (August 1942 to February 1943).

The Volgograd Arena (Russian: «Волгоград Арена») is a football stadium in Volgograd, Russia. The stadium is one of the venues for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It also hosts FC Rotor Volgograd. It has a capacity of 45,568 spectators.

Central Stadium (Russian: Центральный стадион, Tsentralnyi Stadion) was a multi-purpose stadium in Volgograd, Russia, that was a home to FC Rotor Volgograd. It was built in 1962 and renovated in 2002. The capacity of the stadium was 32,120. The stadium was closed and demolished in 2014. A new stadium will be built on site in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Volgograd Sports Palace of Trade Unions is an indoor sporting arena that is located in Volgograd, Russia. The arena can be used to host basketball, handball, futsal, ice hockey, martial arts, concerts and shows, and dancing.The seating capacity of the arena is 3,700 for basketball games. It is the home arena of the Russian basketball team Krasny Oktyabr of the VTB United League.
