Gwanggyo City and Gwanggyo Lake Park did not exist 10 years ago. The city is all new and the Shindae and Woncheon lakes area has been completely redeveloped into what is now an outstanding world class lake park.
The sleepy Shindae Lake area offers amazing natural surroundings and caters almost exclusively to the natural flora and fauna.
The much busier Woncheon Lake area is technologically impressive and upscale, with rock climbing, pools, amazing fountains, LED light displays, cafes, restaurants, soon an ice skating rink, and is surrounded by the amazing city lights of Gwanggyo.
As one of the very first residents to arrive in this new city - arriving when the lakes were empty and the area was in full development mode - this park area still continues to impress. The number of trails, pathways, and routes through, in and around this park make this whole park and city area very special.
