One of New Zealand’s best one day hikes! Starting off at Mangatepopo road end the first section is flat until Soda Springs. From here you go up Devils Staircase to the South Crater. This section, along with the next, are the challenging sections. Between the South Crater to the Red Crater you get the most amazing views along the track and makes the hard walk up worth it. From here you walk to the Blue Lake and then down hill to the end of the track. This last 11km takes roughly the same amount of tome time the first 8km do.
