Prato ( PRAH-toh, Italian: [ˈpraːto] (listen)) is a city and comune in Tuscany, Italy, the capital of the Province of Prato. The city lies 17 kilometres north-west of Florence, at the foot of Monte Retaia, elevation 768 metres (2,520 ft), the last peak in the Calvana chain. With more than 195,000 inhabitants, Prato is Tuscany's second largest city (after Florence) and the third largest in Central Italy (after Rome and Florence).

Prato Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Prato; Cattedrale di San Stefano) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Prato, Tuscany, Central Italy, from 1954 the seat of the Bishop of Prato, having been previously, from 1653, a cathedral in the Diocese of Pistoia and Prato. It is dedicated to Saint Stephen, the first Christian martyr.

The Monash University Prato Centre is a teaching and research centre in Tuscany. It is located in an 18th-century palace, the Palazzo Vaj, in the historical centre of Prato. It was opened on 17 September 2001, as part of Monash University's internationalisation policy. It was established with the assistance of the local government of Prato, the region of Tuscany and prominent Italian-Australians Rino and Diana Grollo.

Built for the medieval emperor and King of Sicily Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor, it was built in Prato, Italy on top of a previous fortification of which two towers remain.When Frederick II died building was stopped and the interior was never finished. The castle is open to the public and although some destruction took place during the fascist regime, reconstruction work has begun and is ongoing.

Stadio Lungobisenzio is a municipal stadium in Prato, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of A.C. Prato. The stadium holds 6.800 attendance. It is located in Via Firenze, 5 59100 Prato, along the Bisenzio river. The construction work began in 1939 and was finished in 1941, year of the inauguration.

Prato Centrale railway station (Italian: Stazione di Prato Centrale) is the main station serving the city and comune of Prato, in the region of Tuscany, central Italy. Opened in 1862, it forms part of both the Bologna–Florence railway and the Viareggio–Florence railway. Until 2002 it was named simply as Prato.
