Bougival is a commune (or village) in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Bougival is located 15.3 km (9.5 mi) from the center of Paris, in its western suburbs.As the site where many of the French Masters (including Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Berthe Morisot, and Auguste Renoir) painted country scenes along the Seine, the village today hosts a series of six historical placards, known as the "Impressionists Walk," at locations from which the noted painters depicted the scenes of Bougival.
