Lake Ginninderra

Lake Ginninderra is an artificial lake located on the Ginninderra Creek in Canberra. It is adjacent to the Belconnen Town Centre. The lake was constructed in 1974 to collect stormwater discharge from a 98.8 square kilometres (38.1 sq mi) catchment that includes the surrounding suburbs of Aranda, Macquarie, Cook, Bruce, Belconnen, McKellar, Giralang, Kaleen in the eastern areas of Belconnen.

The District of Belconnen is one of the original eighteen districts of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), used in land administration. The district is subdivided into 25 divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks. The district of Belconnen is largely composed of Canberra suburbs.As at the 2016 census, the district had a population of 96,049 people; and was the most populous district within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Belconnen (postcode: 2617) is the most inner suburb of the larger district of Belconnen in Canberra, Australia. Sharing its name with the larger district which encapsulates it, the suburb is surrounded with well developed infrastructure, and planning which allows it sunset views from the Brindabellas on its western side.

University of Canberra Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra, formerly known as Lake Ginninderra College until 2011, is a public secondary college for students in Years 11 and 12. It is located in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, situated on the lakefront of Lake Ginninderra.

Belconnen Town Centre is located in the suburb of Belconnen on the south-western shore of Lake Ginninderra in Canberra, Australia. It is the town centre for the Belconnen district.Belconnen Town Centre contains several Federal and Territory government departments, as well as retail and commercial facilities.

Westfield Belconnen, also known colloquially as "Belconnen Mall", is managed by Scentre Group and located in the Canberra suburb of Belconnen, Australia. The shopping centre is one of the largest in Canberra, featuring around 270 specialty stores.

The Belconnen Library is the primary public library servicing the Belconnen district, one of ten libraries in the Libraries ACT network, and one of two in Belconnen, the other being Kippax Library.
