Around Kiryat Gat

Kiryat Gat (Hebrew: קִרְיַת גַּת), is a city in the Southern District of Israel. It lies 56 km (35 miles) south of Tel Aviv, 43 km (27 mi) north of Beersheba, 45 km (28 mi) from Gaza, and 68 km (42 mi) from Jerusalem. In 2018 it had a population of 54,973.

Tel Erani (Hebrew: תל עירני‎) or Tell esh-Sheikh Ahmed el-ʿAreini (Arabic: تل الشيخ أحمد العريني‎) is a multi-period archaeological site on the outskirts of Kiryat Gat in the Southern District of Israel. The tell was first occupied in the Chalcolithic period, but its most notable remains are from the Bronze Age and Iron Age, when it was the site of a substantial Philistine city with links to Egypt.

Iraq al-Manshiyya (Arabic: عراق المنشية‎) was a Palestinian Arab village located 32 km northeast of Gaza City. The village contained two mosques and a shrine for Shaykh Ahmad al-Arayni. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

The Kiryat Gat railway station is an Israel Railways station in Kiryat Gat, situated on the Railway to Beersheba. It is located in the industrial zone in the east of Kiryat Gat. The station was first opened in July 1960, but was closed from 1979 to 1997. In December 2006 the station served a daily average of 1850 passengers.
