The University of Campinas (Portuguese: Universidade Estadual de Campinas), commonly called Unicamp, is a public research university in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Unicamp is consistently ranked among the top universities in Brazil and Latin America.Established in 1962, Unicamp was designed from scratch as an integrated research center unlike other top Brazilian universities, usually created by the consolidation of previously existing schools and institutes.

It was started by a donation of the media collection assembled by Brazilian anarchist journalist and publisher Edgard Leuenroth (1881–1968).

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Portuguese: Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação, FEEC) is one of the most well-renowned engineering schools in Brazil. It was created in 1967 on UNICAMP's main campus in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil, as the Department of Electrical Engineering (Portuguese: Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica) of the School of Engineering (Portuguese: Faculdade de Engenharia).

The Instituto de Economia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas is an academic unit of the State University of Campinas, located in the main campus of the University, in Barão Geraldo, Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil.Originally created as a research institute within the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH in Portuguese) of the State University of Campinas, it is today one of the most important public policy think-tanks in economics and related areas in Brazil.
