La Jolla Cove

Children's Pool Beach is a small sandy beach area located at 850 Coast Boulevard, at the end of Jenner Street, in La Jolla, California.The Children's Pool earned its name after the construction of a concrete breakwater in 1931. The structure was gifted to the community of La Jolla by the local philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, who paid for the construction of a breakwater project in order to create a place where children could play and swim that would be protected from waves coming onshore and the beaches adjacent to this area.

The beach is accessed via a flight of concrete steps that start at the south end of Ellen Browning Scripps Park. This beach is located immediately north of Children's Pool Beach, south of Boomer Beach, and also south of La Jolla Cove.

The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library is a non-profit membership library located in La Jolla, a community of San Diego, California. It was incorporated as the Library Association of La Jolla in 1899. It has a rich history, closely entwined with the history of the La Jolla community.The history of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library began in 1884, when a group of pioneer La Jolla women established the La Jolla Reading Club.
