I started at the Beaver Lake Nature Center. Took the Deep Woods Trail (it was beautiful-saw 2 white tailed deer!) then hopped on the Lake Loop Trail (gorgeous, so serene, surrounded by water. There were a couple of places on the lovely boardwalk that you need to use caution-would not recommend jogging on it). Broke off and took the 3 Meadows Trail (rather indescript). At one point this trail converged with a few other trails, and I got confused as the trails were not marked well. Other than that, trails are very clearly marked.
Trails were wide, clearly marked, and earthy trails were very well maintained and comfortable to walk on. Lots of nature programs and guided tours for more enjoyment.
Highly recommend for birders and nature lovers!
There are a variety of trails for all abilities, in all 4 seasons. After your walk, run, or snowy adventure, you can go into the nature center for some hot chocolate or tea or cold beverage, see the exhibits, or sit in one of many rocking chairs and watch the wide variety of birds, squirrels and chipmunks at the feeding station. There’s a microphone on the outside and speakers on the inside, so you can listen to all the different bird calls and other animal noises. It is truly a delight!
