Introduction
Red River Gorge is a 6.8 mile (16,000-step) route located near Stanton, Kentucky, USA. This route has an elevation gain of about 1344.8 ft and is rated as hard. Find the best walking trails near you in Pacer App.
One of the more popular hikes in Red River Gorge is the Double Arch and then over to Auxier Ridge Trail. A total of approx. 6.5 miles which I would rate at intermediate with a few areas that are more like advance since a small amount of rock climbing is involved. This hike gives views of both ridge lines as well as down in the gorge at the creek level, which is truly beautiful. We were able to do the whole hike at a very leisurely pace with a few breaks for viewing scenery and still got it done in 3.5 hours. A perfect fall day hike for sure!
