Gmina Międzyrzecz is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Międzyrzecz County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. Its seat is the town of Międzyrzecz, which lies approximately 48 kilometres (30 mi) southeast of Gorzów Wielkopolski and 68 km (42 mi) north of Zielona Góra.The gmina covers an area of 315.32 square kilometres (121.7 sq mi), and as of 2017 its total population is 25,101 (out of which the population of Międzyrzecz amounts to 18,310, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 6,821).

Kreis Meseritz (Landkreis Meseritz as of 1939; Polish: Powiat międzyrzecki) was a district in Prussia, first in the southern administrative Region of Posen within the Prussian Province of Posen (till 1920), then within the Province of the Frontier March of Posen-West Prussia (till 1 October 1938) and at last as part of the administrative Region of Frankfurt within the Province of Brandenburg (till 1945).

Głębokie [ɡwɛmˈbɔkʲɛ] (German: Glembach) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Międzyrzecz, within Międzyrzecz County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Międzyrzecz, 34 km (21 mi) south-east of Gorzów Wielkopolski, and 61 km (38 mi) north of Zielona Góra.

Międyrzecz Castle - a castle surrounded by a dike, raised in around 1350 by Casimir III the Great in the place of a former gord from the second half of the ninth century, located on a small hill in between two floodplains of the Obra and Paklica Rivers.

The capital of Gmina Międzyrzecz and Międzyrzecz County. Since the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998, it has been situated in Lubusz Voivodeship.
