Super Nintendo World is a planned theme park area under construction at Universal Studios Japan themed after notable franchises from Nintendo, such as Super Mario. First announced in May 2015, construction began in June 2017 and is planned for completion in time for Tokyo's 2020 Summer Olympics. Versions of the themed land are also proposed for other Universal Studios theme parks around the world.

The ride opened on March 18, 2010, as a replacement for the former E.T. Adventure dark ride. The ride is themed to a journey through space and features an array of special effects and immersive theming including interactive projection screens, on-board audio, lasers and fibre optics.

The station was built on March 1, 2001, for the Universal Studios Japan. The station has the same name as the station in Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal City Station.

It is the terminus of the line. The station lies at the southwest edge of Universal Studios Japan (and once existed where the park now stands, before the line was rerouted); however, the park can only be accessed from Universal City Station, the next station on the line.
