The park has several entrances but I started from Gunmakers wharf. Turning left and following the path which will take you around the perimeter of the park . There is much to see including the boating lake and plenty of wildlife . There are adventure playgrounds in several areas and picnic tables in abundance . The park spans 86.18 hectares (213.0 acres) of open space and opened to the public in 1845.

Thames lighters using the canal would have horses provided by the operators of the canal. Horses would be changed at City Road Lock - where the canal enters the Islington Tunnel; and at Camden Lock.
