Did this route recently & found it quite enjoyable. Found several places a bit muddy/boggy but only to be expected due to amount of rain. Went when we thought it would be quiet week day early afternoon but quite a few dog walkers & cyclists. Some parts very narrows you had to stop to let them pass. A fair bit of rubbish around but as the only bin is st the entrance it’s no wonder. A fair bit of fog mess but I’d rather that than see bags of it lying around. A slight hike to the Dream statue but was worth it was born in St. Helens & live nearby but had never been to see it. It’s a shame that a few mindless idiots feel it’s clever to deface& damage it & clearly have no idea what it represents. Would recommend decent foot wear if your going to tackle the steep ramp. Will be going back when weather improves.
