Loch Bowie is a small freshwater loch located in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland.

Forth and Clyde Canal

The Forth and Clyde Canal is a canal opened in 1790, crossing central Scotland; it provided a route for the seagoing vessels of the day between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Clyde at the narrowest part of the Scottish Lowlands. It is 35 miles (56 km) long and it runs from the River Carron at Grangemouth to the River Clyde at Bowling, and had an important basin at Port Dundas in Glasgow.

Loch Humphrey

Loch Humphrey is a loch in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is fished for mainly Perch and occasional trout by members of the Bearsden Angling Club, who have a boat and a boatshed at the loch.It is in the Kilpatrick Hills, and is close to Duncolm. It can be reached by a cart track from Old Kilpatrick, the terrain is not difficult going but it is quite a steep climb.

Donald's Quay

Donald's Quay was once the location of the northern terminus of the Erskine Ferry then run by Lord Blantyre of Erskine House that provided foot passengers with a crossing of the River Clyde, giving direct access between Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire. At some point in the early 19th century the northern terminus of the Erskine Ferry moved to a site closer to Old Kilpatrick and opposite the Ferry House at Erskine, before closure in 1971 when the Erskine Bridge was completed.

Bowling (Scots: Bowlin, Scottish Gaelic: Bolan) is a village in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, with a population of 740 (2015).It lies on the north bank of the Firth of Clyde, between the towns of Clydebank and Dumbarton. It is just 1.5 miles to the west of Old Kilpatrick which is at one end of the Antonine Wall and therefore represents the extreme limit of the Roman Empire on the west coast of the island of Great Britain.

Bowling railway station serves the village of Bowling in the West Dunbartonshire region of Scotland. This station is on the North Clyde Line, 12¼ miles (20 km) west of Glasgow Queen Street.The station is managed by Abellio ScotRail who also provide the train service. It was opened in 1858 by the Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway, though Bowling had received its first railway several years earlier courtesy of the Caledonian and Dumbartonshire Junction Railway (whose Bowling Pier terminal linked into the steamer service along the River Clyde).

It belonged to the parish of Old Kilpatrick which itself was only a few thousand people strong.The Forth and Clyde Canal separates Old Kilpatrick from the north bank of the River Clyde which is just a few metres beyond it to the south.
