Mirpur (Urdu: مِيرپُور‎, lit. 'mīrpūr'), more commonly known as New Mirpur City (Urdu: شہر نیا مِیرپُر‎, lit. 'shèhar nayā mīrpur'), is the capital of Mirpur district and the 2nd largest city of Azad Kashmir.Mirpur is known for its grand buildings and large bungalows, primarily funded through its expatriate community, which comes mainly from Europe (especially the United Kingdom), Hong Kong, the Middle East, and North America.

Kotli District (Urdu: ضلع کوٹلی‎) is one of ten districts of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Kotli is the chief town of the district.

Mirpur University of Science & Technology (میرپور یونیورسٹی براۓ سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی) (MUST) was formerly a constituent college of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir as University College of Engineering & Technology Mirpur (UCET Mirpur). It is a state university and the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is the Chancellor of the university.
