Darjeeling

Darjeeling (Bengali: [ˈdarˌdʒiliŋ], Nepali: [darˈdziːliŋ]) is a city and a municipality in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in the Lesser Himalayas at an elevation of 6,700 ft (2,042.2 m). It is noted for its tea industry, its views of Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jalapahar

Jalapahar is a ridge as well as a locality in the hilly town of Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal. There was a British military camp in this locality in the Raj days. This ridge meets Katapahar ridge at Observatory Hill. St. Paul's School, one of the oldest public schools, is located here.

Southfield College

Southfield College was founded as Loreto College in Darjeeling in August 1961 as a women's college. At the request of the government of West Bengal, the Irish Branch of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Darjeeling Loreto Educational Society agreed to take care of its management. However, due to the lack of personnel, the Loreto nuns were compelled to hand over the college to the government of West Bengal, hence to be run as Southfield College.

Windamere Hotel
