The Eyemouth disaster was a severe European windstorm that struck the south-eastern coast of Scotland, United Kingdom, specifically Berwickshire, on 14 October 1881. One hundred and eighty-nine fishermen, most of whom were from the village of Eyemouth, were drowned. Many citizens of Eyemouth call the day Black Friday.

Eyemouth Lifeboat Station is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) marine-rescue facility in Eyemouth, Berwickshire, Scotland.The station was founded in 1876 to protect local fisherman during periods of poor weather conditions. The original lifeboat house built in the town cost £500 to complete, this was replaced in 1908 with a new house and new facilities were completed in 1992 and extended in 2010 at a cost of over £200,000.
