The Meadows is located at Melville Drive, south of Edinburgh near the city centre. It is one of the most important open spaces in Edinburgh. It is about 3 km if you go round the perimeter of the park. There are however tree lined paths criss crossing the park from one end to the other. The park used to be a large Loch long ago before it was converted to a park. It is now a large open grassland which has a children's playground, a croquet club, tennis courts and recreational sport pitches. there are plenty of benches and picnic tables by around the park. Large trees that give shelters on the main tracks and beautifully lined trees along the side paths.

It was laid out in 1766 outside the overcrowded Old Town, and was a popular residential area for Edinburgh's better-off citizens. Archers' Hall

The Archers' Hall is the club house of the Royal Company of Archers, the Sovereign's Bodyguard in Scotland. It is located at 66 Buccleuch Street in the Southside of Edinburgh, and has been used by the company for over 230 years. Building commenced on 15 August 1776, and was completed in 1777 to designs by Alexander Laing.

The Orthodox Chapel of St Andrew, originally St. Cuthbert's Chapel of Ease, was built as a chapel of ease for the congregation of the St Cuthbert's Church, a Church of Scotland parish in Edinburgh. Opened in 1756, it is the oldest ecclesiastical edifice in the south side of Edinburgh. The building is sited at 33 Chapel Street, adjacent to the University of Edinburgh.

Masson Hall

It is bordered by the University of Edinburgh's George Square campus, the Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre and the Quartermile development on the site of the old Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to the north and Marchmont to the south.
