This route starts at the Central Souk, popularly known as the Blue Souk, one of the most well known landmarks of Sharjah. It continues as an easy walk all along Al Buhaira Corniche at the Khalid Lagoon, always with a nice view of the fountain, sending jets of water soaring 100 metres high, and the new buildings around. The next landmark is the Al Noor Mosque, standing majestically beside the Khalid Lagoon, built by order of her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed al Qassimi, the wife of the ruler of Sharjah, and completed in 2005. It is the first mosque in Sharjah to be visited by non-muslim visitors within a guided tour that informs about Islam and cultural aspects of the life in the UAE. After aproximately 2.5 km, you reach the Al Majaz Waterfront, where you can visit the Maraja Art Park, and rest in one of the restaurants or Cafés. Every day after sunset until 11 pm or 12 pm, visitors can enjoy shows of cybernetic fountains spanning more than 220 metres wide, combining movement of water with lasers, light, video, and audio. After a further short walk on Al Buhaira Corniche, you reach the Qasba Canal which connects Khalid Lagoon and Al Khan Lagoon. You can walk along it to the Al Qasba leisure center (1.5 km from Al Majaz waterfront), located on both sides of the canal, with cafes, restaurants, cultural and entertainment facilities, including the Maraya Art Centre, the Barjeel Art Foundation.
