Wanderweg zur Erhaltung der Südstraße

The trails in this area are set aside as nature preserves to be enjoyed by hikers, families, horseback riders, and nature lovers as well. Once past the small beaver pond and wildflower meadow the walk begins to climb as one enters the woods. There are several paths that veer off. They were logged years ago but the paths are still easily walkable. They are uneven with rocks in spots and grass in spots and pine needles with leaves in other spots. Sturdy shoes with good tread are needed as it can get slippery on the moss covered areas. This path goes on for a couple of miles but we only went in about half a mile. Birds and crickets serenade you as you walk along. Deer droppings are around but we didn’t see any deer. This is a beautiful spot to hike and enjoy the gifts of nature in all the seasons.
